Embarking on the Cañadón Experience hike offers an unrivalled avenue to explore the Estancia 25 de Mayo Section, unveiling the hidden natural gems of the canyon carved by the Calafate stream, flanked by the encompassing hills.
This 7 km trek presents nature's open invitation to observe its unique flora and fauna, study its geological formations, and unearth the story of the area's evolution through its marine fossils.
Beyond the chance to traverse a largely uncharted section of Patagonia, the hike concludes with the reward of a sumptuous lunch at the Estancia 25 de Mayo Section.
Descripción del Tour
Your journey commences with a pick-up from your lodging in El Calafate. For guests not accommodated in approved hotels (airbnb, private residences), the assembly location will be either the ACA Parking Lot or the roundabout of the Tourism Secretary's office.
Departing from the city in a 4x4 vehicle, we head South. A 3 km walk will lead us to the starting point of our 3-hour trekking adventure.
Protected from the wind, we traverse canyons and streams to discover the untouched beauty of Patagonia: birds in abundance, river trout, and native steppe flora. We also encounter marine fossils embedded in geological formations, bearing witness to the centuries-old environmental evolution.
Our trek concludes after 7 km at the Estancia Section, elevated 800 meters above sea level, where a hearty lunch awaits us.
We conclude the tour by returning our guests to their respective hotels in El Calafate.
