Tour Description
Our journey begins at 6:30 AM as we depart from the selected hotels in El Calafate. We will travel for about two and a half hours across the Patagonian steppe, heading from north to south, until we reach the Cancha Carrera border crossing.
From this point, we will start our exploration of the stunning southern region of Chile, making our way into Torres del Paine National Park. ("Blue" in the Tehuelche language, reflecting the predominant color in this area). Our activities here will include invigorating walks and 4x4 vehicle tours.
Upon leaving the Cerro Castillo border, we will trace the path alongside Lago Toro and reach the Serrano River. Throughout this journey, we will enjoy panoramic views of the Paine Grande and Almirante Nieto mountains. We’ll pause here to capture photographs and admire the distant view of Grey Lake.
By approximately 11:30 AM, we will arrive at the Rio Serrano goal, where park rangers will check entrance tickets. Our next stop is the Phoe campsite, where we’ll have time for lunch while soaking in the stunning panorama of the Cuernos del Paine.
At around 1:00 PM, we will reach Puerto Pudeto, the trailhead for the walk to Salto Grande. This walk takes about 40 minutes, and if the weather allows, we’ll continue on a longer trek (approximately 50 additional minutes) to Lake Nordenskjold for an up-close view of the Cuernos del Paine.
We will then drive to the Lake Nordenskjold Upper Lookout, passing by Swan Lagoon until we arrive at Bitter Lagoon. Here, we’ll enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Torres del Paine.
After exploring these magnificent sites, we’ll proceed back to Cerro Castillo to begin our return journey around 5:00 PM, arriving at our selected hotels in El Calafate by approximately 9:00 PM.
