Horseback Riding Around Roca Lake

LAGO ROCA HORSEBACK RIDING ADVENTURE (FULL-DAY)

Starting from selected hotels at 08:30 am, we will make our way to Lago Roca Ranch, situated 42 km from Calafate City. Upon arrival, we will prepare the horses and set off towards the mountainous region. Our one-hour ride will allow us to witness the native flora and fauna until we reach the main viewpoint, where we will be awestruck by the sweeping views of the Perito Moreno Glacier, Roca Lake, Cerro Moreno, Brazo Sur, Cerro Frias, Peninsula de Magallanes, and the Camiseta River Valley.

Our journey continues for another hour and a half as we head to the Rio Rico Camp to savor a scrumptious lunch featuring meat cooked on a disk, accompanied by wine, juice, or water. After enjoying our meal and a brief rest, we will ride for one more hour before arriving back at the Estancia. We will then return to El Calafate at around 5 pm.

HORSEBACK JOURNEY TO THE CHILEAN BORDER (2 DAYS AND 1 NIGHT)

This is a unique experience taking us to the border with Chile. Departing from Lago Roca Ranch with our horses, we will follow the Rio Rico river, which feeds into the southern arm of Lago Argentino. Our path will take us through valleys and across streams and wetlands until we reach Puesto La Rosada.

We will spend the night in a mountain refuge, and the following day, we will return along a high road (weather permitting) to witness the Paine Massif and the southern arm of Lago Argentino. Throughout our adventure, we will be observing native plant and animal species, while also delving into the history, geology, and geography of this remarkable place.
