At 9 AM or 4 PM, depending on the selected tour, passengers are picked up in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle from their hotels, marking the start of the ascent through the Huyliche and Calafate hills, until reaching the private Estancia 25 de Mayo National Park.
This remarkable 4x4 adventure takes us to the most secluded areas of Deep Patagonia, departing from El Calafate city towards the south. We will reach vantage points offering stunning views of the Verlika and Baguales hills, which define the southern boundary with Chile. As we journey alongside the Calafate stream, we will notice the flora transition with the altitude gain until arriving at the Villalba family outpost, the original settlers of this estancia. Here, we can admire the surrounding landscape while learning about the history of this pioneering family. As we continue through the property, we will catch a glimpse of the rural activities taking place on site.
Next, we will disembark for the fossil trekking, a 30-minute exploration of archaeological sites dating back to the Ice Age. Immersed in the steppe, we will encounter various species that inhabit the area, with guides providing insights into their lifestyles and characteristics.
Back at the ravine, we will enjoy a delightful country stew at the "La Sección" stand.
Following lunch or dinner, we commence the return journey to El Calafate.
