Tour Description

Beginning bright and early, your adventure commences with a pick up from your accommodation in the vibrant town of El Calafate. From here, we embark on a journey towards the majestic Los Glaciares National Park, a mere 80 km away.

Just an hour into our journey, we will penetrate the heart of the National Park and proceed to the dock situated at Bajo las Sombras port. A 20-minute boat ride across the Rico arm of Lago Argentino awaits you, offering breathtaking views of the towering facade of the Perito Moreno Glacier.

Upon reaching the opposite shore, our bilingual mountain experts will greet you and guide you to a cozy refuge. Here, they'll provide an informative briefing about the thrilling experience ahead, the trekking route, and essential safety guidelines.

Following a brisk walk to the glacier's access point, our guides will equip each participant with a pair of crampons to secure to your footwear, ensuring a safe voyage across the icy expanse.

Once the group is prepared, we'll inaugurate our glacial hike, the first portion of which presents an awe-inspiring vista of the vast ice plateau.
Throughout the four-hour trek, you'll be enlightened with facts about the local flora and fauna, the region's general glaciology, and the unique phenomenon occurring within the Perito Moreno Glacier leading to its eventual rupture.

Midway through our journey, we will pause for a refreshing lunch amidst the tranquil ice. This break allows us to rest and reenergize for the second half of the excursion, which includes marveling at the glacier's mesmerizing blue lagoons and panoramic viewpoints of the National Park.

Returning to solid ground, we'll commence our descent towards the port to board the boat for our return journey.
This stage of the tour provides free time to stroll along the walkways constructed in front of the Perito Moreno Glacier and visit the viewing platforms that offer spectacular views. This is the perfect spot to capture those unforgettable photographs!
